In Your Village WordPress Multisite Development & Theme Design
‘In Your Village’ was launched in 2015, born out of frustration that most village Parish Council websites are consistently outdated, over charged for and mostly un-user friendly. We set out to create a solution for Parish Councils to get their community online while providing a website that people can enjoy using.
Goals

What we did
- Developed a WordPress Multisite for local communities where subsites can be sold for a monthly fee.
- Designed a branding for the In Your Village that reflected the local demographic.
- Designed and developed a WordPress Theme for In Your Village
Results
- The In Your Village system is able to sell subsite on a subscription basis using PayPal and Stripe payment gateways.
- Subsites are monitored and updates automatically as part of the network.
- A brand is established
‘In Your Village’ was launched in 2015, born out of frustration that most village Parish Council websites are consistently outdated, overcharged for and un-user friendly. We set out to create a solution for Parish Councils to get their community online while providing a website that people can enjoy using.
The ‘In Your Village’ brand was developed with the concept of creating community sites that serve as an online information hub that is super user friendly, appeal to those that don’t have much knowledge of managing websites or content management systems, while at the same time being a visually appealing and up to date, show-case for the client’s community.
We wanted the brand to be inviting and friendly so we used a handwritten font face with a bird as a brand mark to signify community discussion.
We developed ‘In Your Village’ using a WordPress Multisite Network this allows administrators to control and support thousands of sites on the network while each site can be run completely independently, by each client, from the site dashboard.
The entire signup process has been automated so a new user can create a site on a 30 day trial period and start using their site instantly without requiring any input from an administrator. This was an important factor in developing the ‘In Your Village’ system.
