Automattic have won the bidding to oversee the top level registration of the to be released .blog domain names due later this year. In an announcement on Matt Mullenweg’s blog, Matt stated that they used Knock Knock Whois There LLC during the bidding process which closed at around $19 million last year.
WordPress.com is currently providing the registration infomation at dotblog.wordpress.com. Registration for .blog domains will be offered during the second half of 2016.
